WEATHER DAMP WITH SOME SUN
DISTANCE ABOUT 5 MILES (NO GPS)
START / FINISH JUST OUTSIDE ELTERWATER
Today’s walk was difficult, for lots of reasons, the main one being it was my sister in laws first walk since she finished (most) of her treatment for cancer, so the last thing I wanted to do was wear her out likewise the route that I picked out had to have lots of “get outs” in it, also I didn’t want any great hills to climb up and I wanted lots of things for her to see, so I picked this route. I will include a map with this report so you can see for yourself.
This walk took in slaters bridge, a couple of waterfalls, a cave with a pond in where we saw a gold fish (photo to prove it) a lovely tea room that served up cream teas and a lovely walk along the Cumbrian Way back along ElterWater itself offering some of the finest views around .
The weather was damp, with the odd sunny spell but the ground was soaking after non stop rain for the last three days.
About 5 miles I think (wasn’t measuring) at a very slow relaxed walking pace.
As normal a few photos taken as we wandered along enjoy.
